Systematically, none of the former and current theologians and philosophers have studied, how after a qualitatively new stage of the anthropological thought of Irenaeus of Lyon, the following him theologians developed his concept or put forward their counter-ideas, arguing or agreeing with Irenaeus. Based on the historiographical analysis, it can be contend that despite the many works on the early Christian patristics, on the influence of ancient philosophy on the formation of Christology and triadology in the works of Christian theologians of late antiquity, in theological science there are no comprehensive and detailed studies not just on the anthropological views of individual Church fathers, but on the development of the Christian anthropology in Greek and Latin patristics of the 2th–5th centuries. According to the author's research, the sporadic theological developments of the early Christian anthropology, influenced by contemporary Christological, triadological, pneumatological and soteriological concepts, in turn influenced them. They laid the foundation for the construction of the anthropological system of Orthodoxy in the Early Middle Ages of the late 5th – late 12th centuries.
